Overview

We are looking for a skilled PWA Kit Frontend Developer to design, build, and maintain high-performance storefront experiences on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) using the Managed Runtime and Progressive Web App (PWA) Kit framework. You will work closely with backend developers, UX designers, and product managers to deliver fast, scalable, and SEO-friendly e-commerce experiences built on React and Salesforce's headless commerce architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain storefront applications using Salesforce PWA Kit, React, and the Commerce SDK / Composable Storefront APIs.
• Build reusable, performant UI components following React best practices and PWA component architecture (based on Retail React App).
• Integrate frontend applications with Salesforce B2C Commerce APIs (Shopper APIs, OCAPI/SCAPI) for catalog, cart, checkout, pricing, and customer data.
• Implement server-side rendering (SSR), hydration, and performance optimizations to meet Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse benchmarks.
• Customize and extend PWA Kit's routing, theming, and component overrides to match brand and UX requirements.
• Work with Managed Runtime for deployment, environment configuration, and bundle optimization.
• Collaborate with backend/SFCC developers to define API contracts, data flows, and third-party integrations (payment gateways, personalization engines, tag managers, search providers like Einstein Search/Algolia).
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code (unit tests with Jest/React Testing Library, E2E tests with Cypress/Playwright).
• Debug and resolve issues related to performance, SEO, accessibility, and cross-browser/cross-device compatibility.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies.
• Stay current with Salesforce Commerce Cloud release updates and PWA Kit version upgrades.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of frontend development experience, with at least 1–2 years working specifically with Salesforce PWA Kit / Managed Runtime.
• Strong proficiency in React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of Node.js and SSR concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud architecture (SFRA knowledge is a plus, since PWA Kit often coexists with or replaces SFRA storefronts).
• Experience consuming Commerce SDK / Shopper APIs (SCAPI) for cart, catalog, product, and customer operations.
• Familiarity with Managed Runtime deployment, environment/bundle configuration, and CI/CD pipelines for PWA Kit projects.
• Strong grasp of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and CSS-in-JS or styled-components.
• Experience with state management (Redux, React Query, or Context API).
• Understanding of web performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and PWA principles (service workers, offline caching, app manifest).
• Familiarity with Git, npm/yarn, and modern build tooling (Webpack, Babel).
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Good understanding of SEO fundamentals in an SSR/React context.
