Overview

The Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer is a hands-on platform specialist responsible for implementing, operating, and continuously improving cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and platform services within an established cloud architecture. The role focuses on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud operations, automation, observability, platform reliability, and security while supporting Agile delivery teams to ensure highly available and scalable environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) following established architecture patterns and reusable modules.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and platform services in accordance with organizational standards.
• Operate, monitor, and support production and non-production environments to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using approved observability tools.
• Deploy, manage, and support containerized workloads on platforms such as Cloud Run and Kubernetes.
• Manage application configuration, secrets, and environment variables using approved tools and secure operational processes.
• Support incident investigation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and remediation activities under the guidance of technical leadership.
• Implement platform security controls, system patching, hardening, and cloud security best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in on-call support and operational rotations while following defined escalation procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams to deliver platform enhancements, automation, and reliability improvements.

Required Skills

• Experience
  • 6–8+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or another leading public cloud provider.
  • Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Experience managing cloud networking, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and service accounts.
• CI/CD & Automation
  • Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, Jenkins, or equivalent.
  • Experience automating infrastructure and operational tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
  • Familiarity with deployment strategies including Blue/Green, Canary, and Rolling deployments.
• Containers & Observability
  • Experience managing containerized platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud Run.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using logs, metrics, and distributed tracing.
• Security & Reliability
  • Good understanding of cloud security best practices, including IAM, secrets management, and least-privilege access.
  • Experience implementing platform reliability, scalability, and availability best practices.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements, governance, and change management processes.
• Collaboration & Communication
  • Experience working within distributed or offshore delivery teams.
  • Ability to work within established platform standards and architectural guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to proactively identify and communicate operational risks, capacity issues, and improvement opportunities.
