Job Description – Oracle Planning Functional Consultant (Purchasing & ASCP)
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Planning Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP), Oracle Purchasing, and Demantra to support our client HCL Technologies for their end customer Helen of Troy.
The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in Oracle E-Business Suite Supply Chain modules, production planning, purchasing processes, demand planning, incident management, and project delivery. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, technical teams, and offshore/onshore resources to ensure smooth day-to-day planning operations and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Oracle ASCP Planning
- Monitor Oracle ASCP planning processes on a daily basis.
- Execute and validate ASCP plans to ensure successful completion.
- Analyze planning exceptions and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor planning collections and troubleshoot failures.
- Validate supply and demand planning outputs.
- Coordinate with business users to resolve planning discrepancies.
- Support production planning and replenishment processes.
- Ensure planning data integrity across Oracle EBS modules.
- Perform root cause analysis for planning-related issues.
- Maintain planning schedules and monitor batch executions.
- Oracle Purchasing
- Provide functional support for Oracle Purchasing Module.
- Manage purchasing transactions and procurement workflows.
- Validate purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and approvals.
- Support sourcing and procurement business processes.
- Resolve purchasing-related functional issues.
- Work closely with procurement teams to improve operational efficiency.
- Support supplier and inventory planning activities.
- Oracle Demantra Support
- Verify and manage Demantra user access requests.
- Coordinate user provisioning and de-provisioning activities.
- Validate user roles and security permissions.
- Troubleshoot Demantra application access issues.
- Support demand planning users during monthly planning cycles.
- Coordinate with technical teams for security enhancements.
- Incident & JIRA Management
- Manage production support incidents using JIRA.
- Create, assign, prioritize, and track JIRA tickets.
- Coordinate issue resolution across functional and technical teams.
- Ensure adherence to SLA timelines.
- Perform impact analysis before implementing fixes.
- Maintain complete documentation of incidents and resolutions.
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
- SDLC & Project Delivery
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Gather and analyze business requirements.
- Prepare Functional Requirement Documents (FRD).
- Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDD).
- Support solution design and functional specifications.
- Coordinate development activities with technical teams.
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT).
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Coordinate production deployments.
- Perform post-production validation.
- Support project documentation and knowledge transfer.
- Production Support
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 functional support.
- Resolve production issues within SLA timelines.
- Perform impact and root cause analysis.
- Coordinate emergency fixes.
- Support month-end and quarter-end planning activities.
- Ensure business continuity during critical planning cycles.
- Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with business users and project managers.
- Coordinate with HCL onsite and offshore teams.
- Communicate effectively with Helen of Troy business stakeholders.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and planning meetings.
- Prepare status reports and project updates.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives.

Mandatory Requirements
- 5+ years of Oracle EBS Functional experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in Oracle ASCP.
- Experience with Oracle Purchasing module.
- Experience supporting Oracle Demantra.
- Hands-on experience managing JIRA tickets.
- Experience working in SDLC-based project environments.
- Daily monitoring and maintenance of ASCP planning jobs.
- Experience verifying and managing Demantra user access.
- Strong production support experience.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced support environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting global manufacturing or consumer goods organizations.
- Experience working with HCL Technologies or similar global system integrators.
- Knowledge of Oracle Supply Chain Cloud is an added advantage.
- Exposure to Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- ITIL Foundation Certification is preferred.
- Oracle Supply Chain Functional Certification is an added advantage.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Oracle certifications in Supply Chain or Planning modules are preferred.
