DB2 DBA (IBM Db2) – Senior Database Administrator (8+ Years)
Overview

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract (C2C)
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM Db2 databases (LUW and/or z/OS).
- Manage database performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
- Perform backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery activities.
- Monitor database health, capacity, and availability.
- Handle database patching, migrations, and version upgrades.
- Implement High Availability (HADR) and disaster recovery solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide RCA.
- Automate DBA tasks using Shell/Python scripting.
- Manage database security, user access, auditing, and compliance.
- Support application teams for database design and performance improvements.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of hands-on IBM Db2 DBA experience.
- Strong expertise in Db2 LUW/Linux/Unix environments.
- Performance tuning, SQL optimization, RUNSTATS, REORG, backup & recovery.
- Experience with HADR, replication, and disaster recovery.
- Linux/Unix administration knowledge.
- Shell scripting/Python automation.
- Database monitoring tools and troubleshooting utilities (db2pd, db2diag, db2top, db2advisor).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus.
