Overview

We are looking for a Senior Integration Engineer with strong expertise in FHIR, HL7, REST APIs, Java, Spring Boot, and Apache Camel to design and deliver scalable healthcare interoperability solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience integrating EMR/EHR systems, leading integration initiatives, and building secure, high-performance healthcare APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain healthcare integrations using HL7 v2.x, FHIR R4, REST APIs, and Apache Camel.
• Build scalable integration services using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Develop integration workflows, mappings, routing, and transformations.
• Integrate with EMR/EHR platforms, HIEs, payer systems, and third-party healthcare applications.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize integration performance.
• Participate in solution architecture, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive engineering best practices.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and DevOps initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare interoperability standards.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in healthcare integrations.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• HL7 v2.x & FHIR R4
• Java/J2EE & Spring Boot
• RESTful APIs
• Apache Camel
• Microservices Architecture
• Experience integrating with EMR/EHR, HIE, payer, or healthcare platforms.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) and middleware technologies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health, Allscripts, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Prior experience leading or mentoring integration teams.
• Knowledge of HIPAA-compliant application development.

Good to Have

• HL7/FHIR Certification.
• MuleSoft or Apigee certification.
• AWS/Azure/GCP certifications.
• Healthcare interoperability or HIPAA compliance training.
