Microsoft Fabric RTI Engineer – Event Hubs SME

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Fabric Real-Time Intelligence (RTI) Engineer / Event Hubs SME with strong expertise in real-time data streaming, Microsoft Fabric RTI, OneLake, Eventhouse, and Azure Event Hubs. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience designing and implementing real-time data ingestion, processing, and analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric. The candidate should also be capable of leading technical design discussions and addressing non-functional requirements such as latency, throughput, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement real-time data solutions using Microsoft Fabric Real-Time Intelligence (RTI).
  • Build and maintain real-time data ingestion and streaming pipelines using Azure Event Hubs and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Work with OneLake and Eventhouse for real-time data storage, processing, and querying.
  • Develop scalable data-processing solutions using PySpark or Java.
  • Design and implement data ingestion, transformation, processing, and querying workflows.
  • Optimize real-time data pipelines for latency, throughput, scalability, and reliability.
  • Lead technical design discussions and provide solution recommendations.
  • Define and address non-functional requirements, including performance, availability, scalability, and operational reliability.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, application teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to real-time streaming, data ingestion, and Eventhouse queries.
  • Perform design reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.

Required Skills

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering, Data Streaming, or Real-Time Analytics.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric Real-Time Intelligence (RTI).
  • Strong expertise in OneLake and Eventhouse.
  • Experience working with Azure Event Hubs and real-time event-streaming architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of real-time data ingestion and streaming.
  • Hands-on experience with PySpark or Java.
  • Experience ingesting, processing, storing, and querying data using Eventhouse.
  • Experience leading technical design and architecture discussions.
  • Strong understanding of non-functional requirements, including:
    • Latency
    • Throughput
    • Scalability
    • Performance
    • Availability
    • Reliability
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Azure Data Engineering services.
  • Knowledge of event-driven and streaming architectures.
  • Experience with KQL and real-time analytics.
  • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and distributed data-processing systems.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
