Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable RESTful and SOAP APIs.
• Build and manage backend services using Python and/or Java (Spring Boot).
• Develop and optimize database schemas and queries using PostgreSQL.
• Integrate APIs with third-party systems including VMS platforms such as SAP Fieldglass and Beeline.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure high performance, security, and responsiveness of applications.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve API-related issues and integration challenges.
• Implement best practices for API design, versioning, documentation, and testing.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Preferred Skills

• 4+ years of experience in API development and backend engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or Java with Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and web services.
• Experience working with JSON, XML, and API integration patterns.
• Familiarity with authentication/authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
• Good understanding of microservices architecture.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience with SAP Fieldglass, Beeline, or other VMS platforms.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure.
• Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architecture.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
