Overview
Experience- 5 - 6 years
Availability- Immediate
Communication Skills- Good
Mode - Remote
The SharePoint Development Engineer builds the targeted improvements defined by the SharePoint and Power Platform Solution Architect. The role focuses on maintainable SharePoint Online extensions, modern pages and components, metadata-aware user experiences, document intake, validation visibility, navigation, and integration with Power Platform, Telerik, Colligo, Copilot, and the Microsoft Fabric pilot where required. The engineer must favour native platform capabilities where they meet the requirement and use commercial components or custom code selectively. Telerik, Colligo, and custom components should be integrated using approved patterns and remain documented, testable, supportable, and aligned with the client’s SharePoint governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and configure the selected SharePoint proof-of-value enhancements.
- Build modern SharePoint Framework components, extensions, or supporting services where native features and low-code components are insufficient.
- Implement improved navigation and contextual Building, Tenant, project, lease, or document experiences within the approved pilot scope.
- Develop metadata-aware views, forms, status displays, ownership indicators, validation details, and links to authoritative source content.
- Support a governed upload and publishing experience that guides classification, metadata, validation, and storage.
- Integrate SharePoint with Power Apps and Power Automate workflows for intake, approval, refresh, issue reporting, routing, and status updates.
- Implement, extend, or maintain approved Telerik-based components used within the SharePoint solution.
- Diagnose Telerik component compatibility, rendering, accessibility, performance, dependency, deployment, and upgrade issues.
- Configure, integrate, or support approved Colligo experiences that connect users with governed SharePoint libraries and metadata.
- Use Microsoft Graph and supported SharePoint interfaces where appropriate to the approved design.
- Support the custom Copilot experience through pages, components, contextual links, or approved integration points.
- Work with the Microsoft Fabric Data Pipeline Engineer to validate source library structures, metadata fields, versions, change behaviour, and pilot ingestion dependencies.
- Implement accessibility, responsive design, error handling, telemetry, and performance practices.
- Write unit, integration, regression, and user-acceptance support tests, including tests for Telerik- and Colligo-dependent functionality.
- Maintain solution packaging, source control, configuration, deployment, rollback, dependency, upgrade, licensing-documentation, and support handover materials.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, demonstrations, defect triage, and production-readiness assessment.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on SharePoint Online development experience.
- Demonstrated experience with SharePoint Framework, TypeScript, modern web development, and SharePoint APIs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Graph, authentication, permissions, and Microsoft 365 development patterns.
- Experience with SharePoint libraries, lists, pages, content types, metadata, versioning, search, and modern user experiences.
- Experience integrating SharePoint with Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Experience integrating, extending, supporting, or troubleshooting third-party components in SharePoint or Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Strong source-control, code-review, testing, packaging, deployment, upgrade, and technical-documentation practices.
- Ability to make pragmatic decisions between configuration, low-code, commercial components, and custom development.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with Telerik user-interface controls or related Telerik development components in enterprise web or SharePoint solutions.
- Experience integrating Telerik components with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, .NET, or other technologies relevant to the approved SharePoint design.
- Ability to troubleshoot Telerik dependencies, browser behaviour, styling, accessibility, performance, packaging, deployment, and version upgrades.
- Hands-on experience configuring, supporting, integrating, or troubleshooting Colligo solutions used with SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
- Understanding of Colligo interactions with SharePoint libraries, folders, metadata, content types, permissions, versioning, retention, and document lifecycle controls.
- Experience documenting and testing end-user filing, synchronization, or content-access scenarios involving Colligo.
Additional Preferred Background
- React, Fluent UI, PnP libraries, Azure Functions, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Search, or adaptive cards experience.
- Experience building upload wizards, publishing experiences, validation workflows, status components, or contextual navigation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric ingestion dependencies and document metadata mapping.
- Microsoft 365 Developer, Power Platform, or related credentials are beneficial.
