About the Role: We are looking for a hands-on Senior Java Developer who can contribute across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from understanding business requirements and designing solutions to development, deployment, and maintenance.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices, along with practical exposure to AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes. We value engineers who go beyond writing code—individuals who take ownership, challenge existing approaches, suggest improvements, and contribute to building scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development activities, including requirement analysis, solution design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Develop scalable and maintainable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Participate in High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD), including service boundaries, API design, database modelling, and integration approaches.
• Understand existing systems and contribute to application modernization, migration, and performance optimization initiatives.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and implement secure, reliable service-to-service communication.
• Work with relational and non-relational databases, ensuring efficient queries, data integrity, and performance.
• Contribute to application deployment and maintenance using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Identify technical challenges, troubleshoot production issues, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Proactively suggest improvements in architecture, coding standards, performance, and engineering practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in technical discussions, and communicate ideas clearly.
• Conduct code reviews, share technical knowledge, and guide junior developers when required.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity, code quality, and testing efficiency.
• Communicate risks and issues to project and technical management teams.

Required Skills

• Programming: Strong hands-on experience with Java 8 or above.
• Backend Frameworks: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Hibernate/JPA.
• Architecture: Microservices, monolithic applications, design patterns, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• API Development: REST APIs, API security, authentication, authorization, and service integration.
• Databases: Strong SQL fundamentals and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL; exposure to NoSQL databases is desirable.
• Cloud: Practical experience with AWS services.
• Containerization and Orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build and Deployment: Maven/Gradle, CI/CD pipelines, and application deployment processes.
• Testing: Unit testing, integration testing, and frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Version Control: Git and collaborative development workflows.

System Design and Engineering Expectations

• Understand HLD and LLD and contribute meaningfully to design discussions.
• Make informed decisions regarding service decomposition, database selection, API contracts, and communication patterns.
• Understand microservices design considerations such as resilience, scalability, fault tolerance, and transaction management.
• Evaluate technical alternatives and explain the rationale behind design decisions.
• Identify bottlenecks and contribute to application performance, reliability, and maintainability.
